This class was tough.
Course Overview:
This class was so discriminated and unjust in terms of grading, learning, and everything in general. The teacher has favoritism to students that only "kiss up" to her, which I think is an unfair way of getting special affection from a teacher. There was a day where the seniors had to miss the first 20 minutes of 2nd period to take a senior class portrait, which was mandatory for all 600 seniors unless you wanted your picture to be cropped in. Unfortunately, I had Mrs. Novik for 2nd period and my math teacher refused to push back the test for a "group picture" and told us to go to the picture or take a zero on the exam.
Course highlights:
I didn't learn much on AP Calculus, but learned that the key to good grades is kissing up to teachers if necessary because not every course and teacher will be fair in terms of grading.
Hours per week:
0-2 hours
Advice for students:
If you are planning on taking the AP exam for AP Calculus AB, a lot of the material needs to be privately studied because there isn't a lot you gain from this class educational wise. The teacher is very biased, so there are a lot of times when you realize that knowledge isn't simply going to impress her.
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
I recommend this course if you are really good at studying on your own but also like over explained formulas and concepts.
Course highlights:
I passed the ap exam and later realized I didn't have all the concepts down.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
If you love math take it because it will show you just how complicated and amazing math is.
This class was tough.
Course Overview:
If you have the right teacher and the right classmates, you can have the best time learning about derivatives and graphs. Yes, you have read this correctly, you will not suffer, you will have a wonderful time.
Course highlights:
Obviously, the highlights were the amount of work that was required for this course. Many would expect tedious, study-for-5-hours difficult work, however it was really not a hassle at all, and even though there were some bumpy roads, that's what teachers and friends are for.
Hours per week:
0-2 hours
Advice for students:
Do not slack off. Or you will never catch up.
