    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Many people say that Biology, especially AP Biology, is very difficult. Although that statement is not a lie, the course in itself is extremely interesting and worthwhile. It is so important to know and be aware of the world around us, and this course teaches precisely that. Furthermore, it feels so amazing to finally understand the material after hours of studying and coursework, etc. It's like running a marathon, it's tough, but completing it and succeeding feels incredible.

    Course highlights:

I learned that everything in this world is connected. I learned that the more you learn, the less you know. It was so amazing to see how all these little things in life somehow connect, and yet we are so oblivious to the fact that the world is full of the unknown that is waiting to be made known. I will be pursuing a major/career in STEM, and this course only strengthened my passion for my career choice.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Even if you don't plan on pursuing a career/major in science, it is still so important to be well-rounded and know a little bit of everything. Do not be intimidated by the material found within this course. As previously mentioned, it is tough, but it is worthwhile, and it is important.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It's a great course if the biological sciences are something you are interested in. The course covers a very extensive subject, therefore, be prepared to learn multitude of topics in a short time and find that the world is far more beautiful and intricate than you initially believed.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course for me would be learning about the inner workings of prokaryote and eukaryote cells. These tiny organisms that make up almost every living thing have such a large influence and are so complex themselves. It was amazing to me, to learn about the functions of organelles within a cell, the transportation of molecules across the plasma membrane, prokaryotes ability to share segments of DNA with each other to improve their fitness in their environment, or of the large impact these cells have in everything.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Intergrate yourself into the course completely, meaning- study the material you understand and study the material you don't comprehend even more, get to know the teacher, demonstrate how hard you are willing to work, by asking questions and involving yourself in the class. If in the event you get a bad grade or fail a test, don't be afraid to speak to the teacher, and remember that this isn't going to destroy you, all you have to do is get back up again, review the material, and do better next time.
