Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The AP teacher (NOT Newel, she retired, I had Mrs. Faris her first year teaching) knew what she was doing. She was fun and engaging in her lectures/presentations to the class, and her tests were difficult. While normally difficult tests aren't fun for anyone, they were only difficult in that they demonstrated the questions and need for accurate understanding of the subject matter we would later see on the AP exam.

    Course highlights:

The main subject of each chapter focused on a specific time or era in chronological order of American history such as the 'Gilded Age', the 1920's, and the Civil War. The best part for me was after the AP exam, because the teacher considered the purpose of the class fulfilled and allowed us to do what we wanted with the time within reason (like watch Netflix on the smart board, study, or play cards).

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The course is easy enough if you actually put in the effort, which isn't too much. Take excellent notes because you NEED to know the material - or at least memorize it until the exam.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

For people who really want to know the rigor of a college course, this is perfect preparation.

    Course highlights:

I learned that although it may be stressful, an AP course will really show you what you're made of. You might have to pull a few all-nighters for this class, but it's definitely worth it. Usually scores in this course are either really good or really bad so ot is important, vital, and completely imparitive that you ALWAYS READ!!!!! DO NOT FALL BEHIND!!!! Trust me, you do not want to dig yourself out of a hole that was caused by simply skipping a chapter. No, YOU MUST ALWAYS READ!!!!

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

This course is not for the faint of heart. Do not be shocked if you make a bad grade that you are not used to (I a sure you it will happen at least once, even to the smartest people). However, as long as you kept up with the reading and take good notes, you will do just fine and it can be fun.
