    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

    Ap English and composition teaches a life skill about how to read effectively, and arguably more importantly, how to write effectively.

    Course highlights:

    I gained a basic knowledge of the history of fiction, and more prevalently, how authors employ strategies to create an effective work of fiction.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

    Find the smartest kid and read their essays. Become friends with them and have them help you with your own writing. Don't take a bad grade personally, but use it as fuel to get better.

    This course is rigorous and always keeps you thinking about the

    I gained a newfound love for literature. We explored ideas in texts and poetry that made it even more interesting. There is more to a work than meets the eye and it makes each work even more valuable.

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    It is important to read each book that is assigned. Don't just skim over the works that are assigned. Make sure to know the literature terms.
