    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to explore biology as a field of study. As a prerequisite course I felt well prepared to enter my other courses in anatomy and physiology, botany, and chemistry.

    Course highlights:

I gained a thorough understanding of lab work, microbiology, and an introduction to chemistry. I learned about the parts of a microscope and how to use it in experiments examining cell structure. In addition, I received an introduction to genetics.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Print out the lecture notes and bring them to class. Pay attention to the content highlighted in red or blue. Always draw diagrams the professor illustrates on the white board. Practice writing out the study questions because they are the same ones used on the written part of the exam. The exam questions come directly from the lecture outlines. Don't be afraid to ask questions, especially during the labs!
