    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it definitely makes students better writers, teaches them the importance of time management, and makes students come together and work together as a class.

    Course highlights:

This course includes a lot of reading and writing. I learned a lot about how to write a good essay, worthy of the AP test, in about 40 minutes, which is how much time students will have when taking the test. I also learned a lot about the mechanics and devices of writing which not only made me a better writer, but also helped me ace the multiple choice section of the AP exam.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

As always in a time consuming AP class, time management is essential to passing the class and keeping yourself sane. The class does take up a lot of time and is lots of hard work, but your teacher gives you that hard work to help you succeed, so try to complete all of it. That being said, it's okay to turn in a late homework every once in awhile if that's what you need to do to get some sleep or just find time to de-stress. It won't hurt you and it won't kill your grade.

Strengthened writing ability and understanding of basic rhetorical strategies used by various writers. The ability to decipher hidden meanings behind words of writers as well as being able to incorporate those techniques into your own writing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to work and don't constantly put yourself down in this class. A good amount of failure is guaranteed for the first month or so of the class, so don't be to scared. Instead, learn from your mistakes and turn your weaknesses into strengths by persevering onward.
