Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course as it has made me a better writer and analyzer. This class puts you out of your comfort zone and makes you realize that there is so much potential in your writing. If you chose to take this course, you will enter college more prepared, and less nervous.

    Course highlights:

I have become a better writer, and have realized what types of styles of writing could potentially fit me. Through this class I have learned a lot just about the world around me that I would have never know. I also learned how to express my feelings and passions for something through writing, and I have never been able to accomplish that before.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To do well in this course you need to have time management and background knowledge in writing and MLA. You need to know how long it will take you to write a paper and do well on it. Do not wait until the last minute to do anything, or else your grade will show that you did not put enough effort into it.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Other people (typically very high achievers) will tell you what a joke this course is. True dual enrollment English isn't as rigorous as AP English, but I actually found this course very enlightening. This course helped me look at things in a different light and wasn't too challenging. Plus, I got college credit (however UCSD doesn't really give you anything for this course towards Engineering...). Anyway, it got me out of English senior year!

    Course highlights:

We got to write a lot of essays in DE English, so I got better at writing. I also got A LOT faster at writing. Not gonna lie, did some essays at 4am the day they were due.... ya. We went through some different writing techniques such as cause and effect writing and defining your argument. I also learned how to effectively organize my thoughts into essays and use research to back up these thoughts. Also, there was a lot of movies we watched in order to write essays on which was actually quite nice.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

If your thinking this class is too easy, just take it anyway. It counts for college credit and bumps your high school GPA a bit (given it is taken as a dual enrollment course). This could even be a relaxing class to focus on your other classes. If you feel this class might be too difficult for you, don't be intimidated! I was super intimidated going into DE English, but then I figured out everyone else knew just as little as I did! Just think, 14 essays for the whole year, and you're done with English FOREVER (if you want to be).
