    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was very insightful. It taught the basics of Java syntax and logic, as well as how to understand the processes of loops and data sorting.

    Course highlights:

I learned basic Java programming as well as some great studying skills. There were times where I had completely given up on this course, but a simple revision rushed my enthusiasm back. The class starts off with flowcharts, which are representations of what you want a program to do. From there, you will write programs based off of those charts using various methods and tactics.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are taking this course online, try to attend some of the in class lectures. I never did, but I feel that if I had, I would have passed with an A. You are going to be reading from two different books and learning how to code on your own. Review and definitely discuss the topics with either classmates or fellow programmers online.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

It's a great way to get into programming even though you've never even touched it before. It may not be the most introductory course to programming at Cerritos, but if you know your way around a computer even decently you'll be fine. I picked up a couple new tricks from this class even despite I've had previous knowledge of programming before.

    Course highlights:

The professor himself is a really funny guy, but at the same time knows he knows his stuff and knows how to convey and teach it to his students. I've had previous knowledge of programming before I walked into the class, but even despite that I still managed to pick up some new handy tricks.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't be afraid to ask the professor or your classmates any questions you may have. Just frustrate yourself if something doesn't go right in your program for hours. Sit down, take a deep breath and continue.
