Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I entered this class with very low expectations because science is not one of my strong suits but I ended up passing the class with an A! The powerpoints and lectures are very thorough and she packs a lot of information into a short period of time, so you definitely have to pay attention and show up to class in order to pass.

    Course highlights:

I gained an understanding of biology at the most basic level but also how it applies to the world around me. I learned all sorts of tidbits that made me see the world in a different way.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you show up to class and pay attention! Other than that I would recommend reading the textbook as it goes further in depth and gives clarification on certain topics.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I believe that Biology is one of those classes that depend on the type of professor you have. Professor Vaughan is an ideal professor. Biology breaks down everything you know in life.

    Course highlights:

You learn how everything works, how everything survives and reproduces. You get the opportunity to compare and contrast different species and learn that we are all similar to one another, which is kind of creepy when you compare humans to rats. My favorite part was when Professor Vaughan took the class to a local park by campus. We walked around, identified and discussed the different plants and bugs we came across. I saw poison ivy for the first time that day, thank goodness I was no where near it when he pointed it out.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Biology is not a class that you can just read the book and take notes. Well, at least most people in my class including myself weren’t able to. This is a class that requires flash cards. Learning and memorizing terminology is the biggest part of this class. Flash cards are the only reason I was able to do so well in that class. It wasn’t an easy A but I definitely learned more than I expected to last semester.
