    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was very challenging yet prepared me for my senior English class. I would recommend this course to anyone that wants to prepare for further challenging classes.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to write effectively and find more complex concepts in literature. I better understood the different styles of writing between authors such as Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Do what the teacher says the first time and listen carefully to the instructions. Get started on writing and reading assignments early in order to get them completed thoroughly.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking any IB classes if you plan on increasing your chances for getting accepted into various universities and preparing yourself for college in general (the workload, more specifically).

    Course highlights:

Some highlights of this course included reading various classic American novels, and analyzing the content of the stories; symbolism was an interesting topic of discussion. I learned to go beyond the surface; analyze in great depth anything the story more offer

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate, or do what you think is the "minimum". Procrastinating will only lead to long nights of staying up, doing assignments that could have been completed a long time ago. The instructor is not fond AT ALL of students only doing the minimum. There is a reason why she pushes students to go beyond what other teachers expect of their students: she wants to see you succeed in college, and in life.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course taught me how to write and be clear with my words. It is crucial to have a disciplined teacher that will scrutinize your essays and give you strong beneficial feedback.

    Course highlights:

I learned the beauty of work ethic and essay writing. I learned how to compare two different texts through analysis of theme and styles of writing.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate. You need time to edit your papers to avoid bad grades, and the feedback on a good essay is important to improve. There is nothing worse than getting a written essay back with a bad score, whilst knowing that better could've been achieved.
