    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this class to students who wish to learn as much as possible before entering college. Yes this class is killer, especially the poetry project, but it is completely worth it if you try hard to improve your writing. Mrs. Morrison knows how to mold each mind to become a better writer, but only if the student lets her. I do not recommend this class if you have trouble with higher reading or with medium level writing, as you will be taught how to learn higher writing techniques.

    Course highlights:

I learned to become confident in my writing, and how to write something sort-of last minute and still have style. She also taught me how to word my ideas, which, for me, is the hardest thing when talking about literature.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

DO NOT PROCRASTINATE THE ASSIGNMENTS you'll end up making it harder for yourself. Also do not be afraid to talk about your ideas, she loves effort, and loves hearing new interpretations

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I learned about the importance of symbolism and the tone of the authors voice. Foreshadowing is much more important after I've learned it from this teacher. Books weren't just worlds I stepped into anymore; they were a treasure hunt for gold.

    Course highlights:

I learned to look for both the bigger picture and the smaller picture inside of that. I was taught to read with an open mind and to understand and live on both sides of the story.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate and keep an open mind to everything. We like to think that we have our judgements and values of life set, but this course will make you question who you are and if you're living for who you want to be.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It builds writing skills and opens mind to new writing styles and perspectives. It also helps to build creativity and knowledge of American literature during different time periods.

    Course highlights:

I learned about American History, rhetoric, writing styles and writing periods, and different points of view.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to focus, balance your time, and open yourself to different writing styles.
