    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend AP Language and Composition with Dr. Jason Clarke at Fort Collins High School because it has been the closest to a college course as far as AP courses go so far in high school, it opens your world to a myriad of topics and view points, and you are gifted the immeasurably important practice of writing every week.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were every time we jumped into a new and different, yet related, unit. We went over the different types of feminism, economic standpoints, education styles and how they transfer to society, and the environment. The professor had extreme knowledge of all of the fields and was able to synthesize, connect, and thoroughly explain everything in terms of the other units and of the literature and writing styles that we were exploring.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to have a firm grasp on writing a succinct, focused essay. You also must (I repeat, must) have an open mind on every topic discussed in the class, which is admittedly, most opinion-driven topics.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course changed my life. You'll be challenged to the point of questioning your own existence.

    Course highlights:

I accredit this class with most, if not all, of my essay-writing ability. Units are divided into different categories of social issues (racism, feminism, environment, economics, etc.) and one is required to write an essay on the material provided. This allows for education on worldly issues, as well as drastic improvement in one's writing skills.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

This is a hard class, but the learning is worth it. Just do all your essays.
