    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It was such a fun and engaging course! I didn't have a very good Biology teacher my freshman year, and so I was scared to relearn it all. But Mrs.Minor made it really easy and gave us great tools to pass the AP exam! There was also a lot of group work and interaction, and it helped because if you can explain it, then you really do know it.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to benefit from an interactive environment. Obviously I learned about Biology, and one of the biggest units in this class we did was evolution. We spent an entire month working on a project studying the in depth evolution of a specific animal. It was a really cool project because you got to pick which animal you did. We also learned about Bioethics, which allowed us to do some debates. I enjoyed this class overall, and even though it was challenging, it was a lot of fun.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read the textbook and pay attention in class. Make sure to take good notes and never be afraid to ask a question.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I was in AP Biology and had to learn so many definitions on chromosomes and ribosomes that I would become confused. By creating a song it would help better define words instead of using old flash cards.

    Course highlights:

By taking many advanced placement courses I never had time to study for all my test using flash cards. By creating a song it would help me and my friends, as we began to think learning could be fun. Even though we did not like biology, we learned the different parts of the body and how each cell has a job to do that keeps us alive everyday.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Only take advanced classes if you are willing to put in the work. The speed of the class is a lot quicker and do not fall behind or it will be harder for you to catch up.
