Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is super fun, especially for creative writers! We spend a lot of time on our personal writing style.

    Course highlights:

At the end of the year, we write personal essays about our lives, which really helps us connect to our classmates.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Work hard. Do the reading. Do not ever cheat. You will make the whole year harder for your classmates.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely amend this course. The teacher helped me get through all difficult barriers that I faced with my writing. Also the assignments that we were given throughout the year we're so interesting because they all related to real life and had interesting topics that made them seem less like homework.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the two socratic seminars that the students were able to participate in. Being a student of colour and discussing racism in my class was scary however the class discussion led to a lot of interesting points and overall a better learning environment.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Most importantly do not procrastinate. Also don't always stick to the original forms and outlines with essays. A good essay is one that has a clear author voice. No essay would be interesting without an interesting topic and an interesting way the information is being relayed.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a great class! You will learn a lot of important writing tips and leave a much better essayist.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were the "This I Believe" essays at the end of the year. We learned a lot about how to organize and edit our own work, which strengthened our arguments and helped us to succeed in other classes.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the reading! It will really help you out. And never try to cheat. You won't be able to get away with it. And that will make everyone else's year miserable.
