    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is a must-take course for anyone who is interested in history and wants to get a head-start on learning the art of note-taking, which is essential for survival in college.

    Course highlights:

Being my first AP course in high school, I realized how fast-paced AP courses are. The course taught me how to take detailed notes of the textbook and how to brilliantly organize all the major events of the human past. This course even made me consider to pursue history as a major in life - that's how interesting and comprehensive this class is. I also learned how to write a 2-page analysis of a historical era or event in less than 30 minutes (those essays were grueling!) Sounds like a lot, but you will get used to it :)

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

DO NOT dilly-dally on the note-taking aspect. I don't know about other schools, but my school teacher assigned us a chapter section (8-10 pages) every night, and he would bombard probing questions at students on the content. So make sure you take good notes and mark (highlight, underline, circle, etc) the important battles and buildings and years in your notes.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This is an excellent yet challenging class, full of fascinating history and culture.

    Course highlights:

Not only did I learn aspects of European history I hadn't known before, I learned how to take notes efficiently and how to process what I'd learned and apply it to tests and essays.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This is not a class you can slack off in. You must keep up with the reading and take good notes. Make sure you understand what you're learning, and if you don't then don't be afraid to ask for help.
