    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course is defiantly not for the faint of heart, this class will both intrigue and challenge you. You get to go more in depth into the inter-workings of how a cell functions, learn about gene modification and biotechnology, and about how virus work.

    Course highlights:

The best part of this course was when you learn about gene splicing and plasmids, oncogenes (cancerous genes), and about the different types of viruses and how they infect a host cell ( retroviruses, bacteriophages, and DNA viruses).

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I highly suggest you evenly spread out the work and work on a small portions everyday, if you procrastinate it will come back and bite you and you will lose a lot of sleep. One time a pulled an all-nighter for this class and it was on a test day as well, lucky I got a B on the test but i kept nodding off to sleep during it taking me the whole period plus ELT to finish it.

    Course highlights:

From studying this course, I have gained useful knowledge in the area of environmental science which will be immensely helpful in my study of Environmental Management and Protection at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you complete every homework assignment! Also, take advantage of extra credit opportunities because they can balance out low test scores.
