Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I really enjoyed this class and Rosa is amazing! The labs we have after lectures are really helpful in grasping the concepts taught and doing practice problems on real life scenarios. There is a lot of information however, and its important to reengage with the material every week to make sure you are up to date with the information. Also do the lab assignments before class!!

    Course highlights:

I became interested in epidemiology after watching Contagion! Through this course you learn about how disease are spread through vectors and hosts and how they proliferate through a community/state/country. You learn, as a public health official, how to determine the reason for an outbreak, or perhaps a food borne illness, but looking at context clues and doing data analysis to determine the food that caused the outbreak. Its a really fun class and it makes it easier that laboratory includes group work that allows you to work through problems together - that arent graded!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the lab assignments before you get to laboratory so you will have already worked through the problems and have a better understanding of the material. Sometimes the class can move fast if you are not in tune with the concepts.
