    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would strongly recommend this course if you are interested in the medical field or interested in receiving a biology major. Although taking this course in high school and passing the AP Biology exam won't give you credit for a biology class in college, it is still a great learning experience which will give you an inside feeling at what it will be like at college.

    Course highlights:

Taking this course taught me so many things. I had already taken honors biology but AP Biology takes the class to a whole new level, and each material is covered more in depth. This class will definitely cover what you will need to know for when you take it in college. The highlights of taking this course would definitely be the educational field trips we had, as well as all the personal friendships you will encounter, your classmates will me like a second family. Our teacher did this so we would understand the concepts that we were learning better, so we would go to places like aquariums and the zoo. Places like those are field with so much nature and life, because after all biology is literally life, and life is all around us. One thing that our teacher told us and I will never forget is that science is born of necessity. Overall this course was a great experience, it was tough and requires a lot of time and hard work put into it, but it will pay off.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are considering taking this course my best advise to you would be to take it with responsibility, know when it's time to be serious and learn and when it is time to have fun. This course will be hard, but trust me you can do it! You just have to put your priorities first, and dedicate all the time you can to this class. For this class it is necessary that you study at least an hour to two hours a day, not including the homework for this class, in order to learn all of the concepts you guys are covering in class. If you slack on a chapter, it will be a little bit more complicated to understand the next, because each chapter requires you to know what you've learned in the previous ones, basically all of the chapters connect. It will be a long way through, full with stressful weeks, but if you don't procrastinate and study each night like you should this course won't be hard. The material itself is not difficult to learn, it's just that oneself makes it difficult. It'll be a great learning experience, enjoy it and do not procrastinate.
