This class was tough.
I would recommend Ms. Chiang's AP Biology class because it really challenges students to work hard in order to take in the subject matter well. Self-studying is a big aspect of the class so students must have a lot of motivation in order to pass the class. The teacher also knows her stuff really well so she is able to answer any question you have about the chapter.
A highlight of the course was the creation of a children's book. The children's book was used as a review for the past lessons we went over throughout the semester. We were required to input our knowledge on a certain lesson of the class into a book to teach kids about biology through a captivating storyline. This was not only a great way for kids to learn but it was also a good way for the biology students to remember the past lessons of the class. I learned about evolution and genetics in the class. I learned that a population must maintain the Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium to prevent evolution from occurring. The equilibrium required no form of immigration or emigration, random mating, no mutations, no natural selection, and it required the population to be very large.

Advice for students:
Incoming students who plan to take AP Biology need a high level of motivation as well as an integral level of determination. They must be able to study efficiently on their own in order to maintain their grade and be sure not to procrastinate on any lab write ups. I recommend that students should buy an AP Biology prep book for the class in order to gain more information on the chapters. These prep books can help you on the FRQs and quizzes that the teacher gives every week as well.
