    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to students who are passionate about the American History. It's a hard and rigorous course but in the end, it's all worth it. Mr. Ludlam may be harsh and strict throughout the year but he's doing this for the students' benefits!

    Course highlights:

By taking this course, I learned many different historical facts. My favorite topic has to do with nativism, which is basically discrimination. Throughout history, many different minority groups were treated unfairly by the Anglo-Saxons and even today there is still racism going on. It's a topic that I am passionate about and a topic that makes me angry because of the discrimination that people had to suffer through.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I do not recommend procrastinating for this course. Make sure that you do all the textbook readings beforehand so you can be prepared for the daily lessons by Mr. Ludlam. Participation is an important part of your grade in his class so it is important to always participate.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Ludlam ensures that everyone is kept responsible for their own learning and the class relies on discussion between the students and the teacher. It brings you out of your comfort zone and makes you more confident with your own knowledge.

    Course highlights:

I learned about how one era of America can connect to another era in American history. I also learned about how history topics relate to contemporary topics and the progress of American culture and society.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to read often and to be embarassed every now and again while participating. With that said just as in life, it is better to try and fail then to never try at all.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Through AP US History, I was able to attain a greater understanding of the history of our nation. I studied the good and the bad and put together a better picture of how we arrived at where we are now.

    Course highlights:

Specifically, I learned the ideals behind the founding of our nation. The conflicts and collaboration we had with foreign nations -- World War 1 and 2. The internal growth and decline the we endured --the Roaring 20s and Great Depression.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read the textbook you are given and invest in crash course books. They not only save your time, but also provide concisely articulated summaries that contain a multitude of essential information.
