    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

As I said in my write up, Shields will allow for self expression, while also allowing the student to facilitate discussion and voice their own opinions. This made for a great class dynamic in which the students brought enthusiasm to class each and every day.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to analyze literature, which helped me become a more creative thinker overall. Breaking down the thematic elements of a work, while also understanding the significance of a work's context were essential elements I learned.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take it. Although challenging, the payoff is worth it in the long run. This course prepared me better than any other for the rigors of college courses.

One of the biggest highlights of this course was doing the junior skill project. This was a long assignment that focused on learning a new life skill and improving on it every month.

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advise for students considering on taking this course would be to not procrastinate on their work and to turn everything on time.
