    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this to students who love to look more into the context than just reading the book. I recommend this course because it helps you reveal the academic thinking you never thought you had within you and it's very very helpful for your understanding.

    Course highlights:

One highlight of this course was the fact that although assignments were heavy on us teachers were lenient and gave us the chance to improve our wrongs. The biggest highlight for me was the fact that I had no clue what IB expectations were looking for and around the middle of 2nd semester my knowledge was improved because of IB. What I gained from IB English was me being able to actually "read between the lines" and understand my self taught.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you read every single day as you are told, so you won't be confused as to what you are doing. Also make sure you are confident with what you claim to do, just because teachers are intimidating doesn't mean you can't do nothing. PROVE THEM WRONG!!!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because it is a great challenge to test yourself, and the teacher is really nice and really honest. Overall this is a great class to take if you're ready for a challenge.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about analyzing the text and looking further into the text to gain a deeper understanding of the text. I also became more independent and able to accomplish tasks on my own.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Be focused on her words and pay attention and you should be fine. Also, don't take everything she says to heart. What seems like bad work is actually pretty good.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Under the tutelage of Mrs.Dershem, my ability to analyze literary works and discuss them, expanded exponentially.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed studying Shakespeare 's Hamlet. It was a complex play, but Mrs.Dershem broke down the intricate themes of the play and allowed us students to understand it.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always keep up with the reading on whatever book the class is studying. Do not wait on essay deadlines. Do the essays immediately.
