Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is a perfect way to access classic novels such as Frankenstein and The Scarlet Letter. However, there is more to the class than exposure to great literature: you are also exposed to a community of bright and diverse thinkers who challenge your daily intellect and interpretations of life.

    Course highlights:

I have learned to further improve my literary writing and analyzing to a more collegiate level. It was also a fantastic experience being in an academic class that felt like more of a daily meeting about life and intellect.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

I would highly advise actually reading the books. It helps with quizzes, yeah, but it mostly is beneficial for further expanding your knowledge and perspective. In addition to that, the novels are very interesting and significant to American life and culture.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The things I learned about essay composition, public speaking, vocabulary, tone, and argumentation in this course have helped me succeed in every class I've taken since, no matter the subject! I'm very grateful to have taken it.

    Course highlights:

I learned how best to compose arguments and essays in order to highlight certain aspects and communicate clearly, how to compose presentations and public speeches, how to read literature and articles alike and analyze them in terms of Ethos, Pathos, and Logos, and overall, how to speak, listen, read, and write more clearly and precisely.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Quiz yourself on the vocab every day, and you'll be happy that you did when the test comes! When you have a free-choice project or essay, don't try to choose a topic based on how easy you think it will be. Choose one you're actually interested in, and that way, the project won't feel like nearly as much work. You might actually learn something new!
