Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I have always felt that knowing another language can easily help somebody further their potential in life, not just mentally but also open the job market and help with communication. Ms. Balbe is a fabulous teacher who clearly knows how to teach and also leaves every student smiling by the end of class. You will learn in this class.

    Course highlights:

A highlight we had was our cultural day, where we would cook food from Spanish-speaking countries and bring it in and share with everybody. It was like a giant potluck. We would watch a Spanish movie and eat popcorn and bond with everybody in the class. Through this experience you would learn the culture, going beyond just the language itself.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Listen to what Ms. Balbe says and don't argue with her. If you need additional help there are many resources available online.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Zeljka is a wonderful teacher who genuinely cares about her students excelling both academically and in their personal lives. It's a joy to learn Latin with her because she provides a rich cultural context that makes learning the language all the more interesting. But don't take the course just because of the teacher-- take the course because Latin is a valuable language to understand. Latin roots can help students improve their English vocabulary and Latin grammar can greatly deepen a students' understanding of English grammar. Both the course and teacher are a joy and I can't recommend it enough.

    Course highlights:

I greatly built my English vocabulary and used Latin roots to help me identify tricky words on the SAT. I also learned a lot about how English grammar works since it is heavily influenced by Latin.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Go in with an open heart and open mind because this course can be life-changing if properly learned.
