Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Great preparation for AP literature! Mr. Marshall cares deeply about each of his students. He prepares each lesson only to benefit his students and assigns each task with a specific reason. He goes above and beyond to ensure he is preparing each and every one of his student properly.

    Course highlights:

Mr. Marshall creates special bonds with each if his students that enables each student to trust and respect his teachings. In this class we completed several timed writes to prepare for the AP test. We also read several great works of literature and learned how analyze these novels word for word. This allows students to create new perspectives on literature and understand the novel completely. Mr. Marshall assigned projects called reader's analysis where students would identify significant sections of the novel through the plot and literary devices. this allows students to show their understanding of the novel from cover to cover. This project also showed students how to find deeper meanings in the books through the simplest descriptions give in the works.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Even if you are not planning on taking AP literature I highly recommend taking this course. The class goes above and beyond in teaching the curriculum. You will be highly prepared for any English class in the future. Yes it may be more work than regular English classes, but you learn more than other classes. In regular English classes you may complete and novel without truly understanding its significance or deeper meaning. In Mr. Marshall's class this will not happen. The class holds great discussions where students are able to collaborate and create strong statements together.
