In this class it gave me the motivation for college to be an option, and graduating high school was more of a reality. Being part of the Social Justice Academy lit a passion in me for economic, racial, and social justice. This class opened my eyes to a large number of issues beyond my immediate community.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is nothing like a conventional history class experience. You get a chance to really connect with the material, apply it to your own life, and then make better decisions for your future based on the events of the past.

    Course highlights:

From taking this course I gained an in depth understanding of United States history as well as how to think critically of the events of the past. In this class setting discussion is encouraged and soon enough you'll find yourself contributing without realizing it.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this course you simply have to be present in class and do your homework. By present I mean actively listening and taking good notes. If you do these things you'll be sure to grasp the material.
