Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

AP Biology is a very practical course that focuses more on conceptual understanding than memorization. It is a great AP Science course for students to learn laboratory skills as well as a valuable natural science that can spark interest in a growing field of research.

    Course highlights:

In AP Biology, students receive an introduction to many important fields of biology, such as genetics, biochemistry, cytology, anatomy and physiology, ecology, etc... Every unit is interesting in its own respect and grants students the ability to narrow down their interests to particular fields.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you study for Unit Exams and work hard on labs in the course. Lab skills are very important to not just learn but understand. If you ever do not understand a concept, ask questions and make sure you understand. Conceptual understanding is the key to success.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

AP Biology is a great course if you're interested in studying biology beyond high school. It can really help you decide whether or not you want to continue with study biology.

    Course highlights:

I loved learning about genetics, molecular biology, and evolution. We also learned about photosynthesis and cellular respiration, plant and animal anatomy and physiology, biochemistry, and the parts of cells.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make study guides for each chapter to use to review at the end of the year. It's difficult to go back and review the text for each concept learned, and making study guides throughout the year helps decrease the end of the semester workload.
