    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

For anyone going into the medical field I highly recommend taking Anatomy and Physiology. I took it as a my fourth year science and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Mrs. Brodnax makes the work more interesting by including real life examples. In the course you learn about the human body and it's functions. Why things happen and what it means when these things occur in the human body. It is a great introduction to Anatomy before you take it in college for your major. This way you are introduced to the concept before others and have a greater chance of doing well in the course. For, example we learn about the hormones produced by the body and what organ it is created in and what the function and purpose of that organ are. We learn about neurotransmitters and what drugs affect the production of neurotransmitters and neurons and how they travel through the body. Even if you are not interested in the medical field I still advise you take the course, because it is important to know about your own body. While it is a interesting class it does require hard work, but if you study you will be successful in the class.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were the dissections and projects. While the projects incorporated extensive research, they were not your traditional research projects. For example, when it came to the skeletal system we created a life size model. Or when we learned about skin cells and layers and created a model using play dough for each layer and defined what each layers purpose is.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Work hard, study, and stay focused. Do not procrastinate by waiting until the last minute. It is easy to get caught up in the fun of the class and slack off on the work. so staying focused ad ahead is key to being successful in this course.
