Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class because Ms. Spears is a great and very intelligent teacher who will help you push yourself to the next level in writing.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this coarse was to get to have creative and personal writing assignments as well as academic writing. I learned how to edit my own work and how to write personal things without sounding too overly personal. You get to go over your work with Ms. Spears and she helps you edit and answers any questions you have regarding the assigned paper.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Procrastinating in this class will not work, some topics are hard to write about. I would write out a draft and edit your ideas and thoughts before starting to type the paper. Annotation is very important with articles so you get the main idea. She expects a lot of her students and you need to know more than basic components of writing in order to be successful.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would reccomend this class because you learn how to become a rhetorician. A rhetorician is someone who communicates in some type of way. In this class you become an outstanding rhetor as a writer.

    Course highlights:

I have learned how to create sentence fluency in my essays by fixing my sentence structure. By doing this I have learned to sound more academic in my writing.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be ready to write! In this class it is essay after essay, but don't worry it just helps you get better!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I highly recommend this if you want to improve your writing significantly! Spears has improved my writing already within the first 2 weeks of the semester. I had to tell her that i feel like I've learned more in this class than I have in the past 10 years of my language arts.

    Course highlights:

Keep in mind I've only been in this class for 3 weeks so far as I'm writing this "review". I've learned how to annotate with purpose. I used to annotate by simply making little comments and underlining here and there, not really knowing what else to do. In the first week of the course, I learned how to annotate with a purpose; as in now I annotate by contributing my knowledge and opinion to the article, keeping a question in mind that I have about the article and writing down support and answer for it. The biggest tool I've learned in ENG 101 is how to edit my writing. Simply, how to be concise, how to show instead of tell, and use rhetorical devices to my advantage.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes and pay attention to everything the teacher is saying. Not everything you need to write down on your notes will be in the presentations on the projector. Take this class if you feel you have learned enough of the language arts to finally put it all together in writing every day. Every day is dedicated to editing our errors and improving off of that to make our papers masterpieces!
