    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Overall, this was one of the few courses that I actually think I will use in my everyday life. It makes you reevaluate all the commercials you've ever seen that involve some sort of a statistic. At first glance, the statistic may sound convincing and make you want to purchase the product, but after some mathematical evaluation, you realize that the producers bend the statistic to make it more appealing.

    Course highlights:

I learned that you can't trust a statistic until you actually look into it and calculate the mathematics behind it. I also came to the realization that taking a poll is a lot harder than it looks. We had to take a poll for one of our projects in the class and there are a lot of conditions that need to be satisfied before you can even ask someone the question; such as: the way you present the poll, reducing bias, and making sure your sample size is adequate.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to succeed in this course, you need to completely understand the topics. So be sure to ask any questions that you have because the second that you fall behind in the lesson, it becomes extremely difficult to excel. You will definitely have to do some research for this class; nearly all the projects require researching statistics and analyzing them.
