    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The class allows students to review American History while also developing their own political opinions on the subject. With the use of projects such as mock trials, debates, news casts, and press corps, the student is able to see history through various different perspectives and ideologies.

    Course highlights:

The community built through the class itself was a major highlight just because of the team building and communication skills gained throughout the course. By learning to perform above average content with various types of people, the student is able to apply such skills to other situations later in life.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Making study groups is the definite road to success. By pear editing and discussions, you are able to bounce ideas off of other students to get a fully rounded view of the topics at hand that your own personal bias could be hiding.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Jimmy Cate is the most passionate, involved, and outstanding teacher I have ever had. He kindled an already present lifelong love of history for me that no teacher had ever quite inspired. If you ever have the option to take this course and get to know Jimmy Cate and develop an intimate knowledge of US History, I would absolutely recommend it without any reservations.

    Course highlights:

Before coming into this course, I knew almost nothing about the 19th century in America. Now, going into college as a Poli Sci/ History major I consider it in large part to be the most interesting era of the United States. That knowledge is totally attributable to this course and I can absolutely promise you that, if you want to, you will develop an intimate and great knowledge of every aspect of US history.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to have to truly learn concepts and materials for a horizon beyond just the test ahead of you.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Coach Cate makes sure you understand the content and he sacrifices his own time outside of school to come up with new ways to help students learn better.

    Course highlights:

We learned about the history of the United States of America. We played several games to help s remember what were taught. We also had activities that helped us understand our current government.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Study very hard and make sure you do not cheat yourself. If you don't do the work you will not do well and will fall very far behind.
