    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you're looking for passion, you've found it in the humble classroom of Mr. James Cate. A class about US History can only be so fun; however, my face never lacked a smile and my brain was always full in the presence of this teacher.

    Course highlights:

This course taught me more than I thought a US History course ever could. Not only do you study all that has been the US, but you study all of the culture that has shaped our very lives. It influences the way you look at life; the way you listen to music and the way you read a book will be very different once you know everything that shaped the artist's mindset. It is everything you need to know and more on all things America. Whether you enjoy the subject or not, you will definitely enjoy the course.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

READ! Always read no matter what. Assigned or unassigned, read it. Read everything you come across that is relevant to US and US History. Pay attention, participate in games, take notes on the lectures.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is very challenging but will sharpen your reading skills along with memorization.

    Course highlights:

I've gained the knowledge to start notes on chapters that are over 30 pages long way before the night they are due.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to do a lot of independent work. The tests are tough but doing the notes will help.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would totally recommend AP U.S. History course. It really does benefit taking college credit classes in High School. Even though it can be challenging sometimes, it's worth it because it prepares you for the real thing and demonstrates how college professors will be teaching.

    Course highlights:

I can't believe I'm going to say this but...The teacher is amazing! Class is fun and at the same time we get a chance to be historians: creating our own opinion on the past. We also learn and analyze the truth of the history in the America. I learned what social/political/economic/religious/cultural events shaped the U.S. and created the nation it is today.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

DO NOT PROCRASTINATE!! Get things done as soon as the teacher assigns them. Make study groups with classmates and seek advice from former students. If the teacher is staying after school, try to get as much information and really use the tutor session to your benefit.
