    | Would highly recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Chemistry is one of those fundamental sciences that anyone wanting to go into a scientific field will need to take. I can't stress enough the importance of having a phenomenal instructor as far as your ability to retain and recite the information presented to you in class. Heidi was definitely one of those instructors.

    Course highlights:

Heidi was a great teacher who loves to help her students succeed. If she sees that you are really putting in the effort, she will be there to help you every step of the way. However, she is not one of those teachers who will just give you the answer. She will lead you in the right direction, but it will be on you to arrive at the solution. This really gets the students to think more critically about the course material.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

She gives fantastic information to her SI leaders on the exams. She will often give away freebie questions for the SI leaders to go over during exam review sessions. Going to those will make such a huge impact on your grade. I am in no way a natural at chemistry and I was able to pull an A out of 113 and 116 by studying smart and utilizing the resources that she provides.

    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I struggled in this class mainly because it moves so quickly. This normally wouldn't be an issue because I would just look back at the powerpoint and examples given by the professor however, this professor works through the examples on her tablet on the slideshow but doesn't save the work so when you return to the powerpoint, her work is gone and you are left completely confused as to how to solve the problem. If you take notes in class than you miss her explaining the material but if you just pay attention in class and take notes at home than you miss the work she does in class. The TA does hold study sessions however, he was not very thorough in reviewing the information and would get frustrated if you asked questions.

    Course highlights:

As much as regret saying this, I did not learn very much from this course as

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to every lecture, never forget your QT device, make friends to study with and do every homework and reading assignment.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend taking her unless you truly have to. There were often times when a test would roll around an no one would be prepared. that being said, to become prepared she offered option SI sessions where one of her TA's (teachers assistants) would go over the practices test that were identical to the actual test. These SI sessions would usually be two days before a test, because of that I as well as my peers were caught cramming the information. After taking the test we would forget all our knowledge from the SI session because of the cramming. Therefore we didn't learn much from her teaching at all.

    Course highlights:

The labs were fun, if you knew the information. The cool part was getting to see the stuff taught in lecture, being contributed to real life scenarios which are demonstrated in lab. If you get professor Erin Carter for lab you're in luck. Shes great at explaining materials to every student no matter how hard they're struggling.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to all the SI sessions because if you don't you will fail. This professor depends on her SI teachers to teach for her. You will learn more in the SI session than you will by sitting in her lectures.
