Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The instructor is knowledgeable on the subject and gives plenty of time for busy students to complete the homework.

    Course highlights:

I enjoyed collaborating with other students during the group labs, and learned that maintaining the work load is easier when everyone communicates.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you have had a chemistry course before this. The lectures are fast-paced.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Although the class is tough, there is so much help so that students can succeed. Dr. Windman and tutors are always available if students need questions. Also, the material learned throughout the semester is really interesting, and so are the labs. Overall, I learned a lot throughout the course and had fun.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about elements, their structures, the periodic table, transmittancy, and much more. What I remember most about the course is electrochemistry, and a fun fact I remember about electrochemistry is that it inspired the book Frankenstein to be written.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Take advantage of all the tutoring there is. Also, review your notes everyday so that you can retain information better than just studying a day before a test. Lastly, have a group of people that you study with so you can help each other.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for incoming engineering students having to take the course, but if you're set on premed it is best to tackle on chem 113 since it will go at a slower pace and cover the same content under less stressful conditions.

    Course highlights:

The highlights were having to adjust to heavy amounts of studying and tutoring for this class but also having fun in lab and recitation. I learned to analyze chemistry problems and find ways to solve it based on what I learned in class, read at home, experimented with in lab, and worked on in recitation.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Focus on reading the material before every lecture, don't give up just because it takes too long. Reading the material before the actual lecture will give you an idea of what you will be learning and you won't be completely lost in class, lab, or recitation and you can come prepared with questions if needed.
