While the material for the course may be somewhat dry, the course is instrumental in the success for future chemistry courses and the instructor brings a sarcastic quirkiness that makes every class period enjoyable.
Chem 116 is a much more mathematical approach to general chemistry, but nevertheless important. Students will learn how to predict when, if, and how fast a chemical reaction will proceed.

Practice the material every day. Whether you rewrite notes or go over the lecture slides, dedicate time to review material EVERY DAY. It is also very important to complete practice problems being that almost all questions revolve around the ability to do math problems.
