    | Would highly recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This class takes the time to explain the material in a manner that challenges you to dig deeper, which for me, was very exciting. Learning how programming tools actually work is an eye opening experience, and really teaches you to respect the progress that has been made!

    Course highlights:

This class covers one very difficult concept, that makes everything else look like child's play: Pointers. Pointers are the single hardest part of this class, and even then it's not terribly difficult to understand if you take the time to actually learn how it works, instead of just learning how to use them for your assignments

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Start your labs early! I can't overstate how important it is to start assignments in this class as soon as they are available. You need to be able to take the time to play with and understand the assignment's concepts. If you don't, you're likely to get very little from this class

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course itself is fine. The main problem is the professor. Professor Chen is not good at explaining concepts in class, and he is not helpful during office hours. My recommendation would be to talk to the TAs, go to the review sessions, and go to the tutoring center at CenterPoint.

    Course highlights:

I appreciated learning more than one programming language this semester. It really helps you understand the differences between the different programming paradigms.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend getting the book, because there are plenty of coding examples to be found (be warned, though, that sometimes the syntax is wrong. Not all the time, but sometimes).
