Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Great course! Very demanding, yet very interesting. The course does a great job at combining history with current events. It allows students to develop a broader understanding of international relations, and is necessary for those wishing to pursue a degree in political science.

    Course highlights:

I liked development of topics, such as international relations, and subtopics, such as sovereignty.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to read a lot and write even more. It is important to be analytical, focused, and concise, otherwise you will spend way too much time and will never finish the workload.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Sivak is a great teacher that really cares about his students. He uses multiple case studies to make the material more interesting and easier to learn. This is a class though that you need to do the reading for and show up to class regularly.

    Course highlights:

Some of the highlights of this course are the weekly debates about controversial issues. It is a great opportunity to practice advocating for one position on an issue with hard facts along with your opinion. I specifically learned the different ideologies associated with looking at Global Politics and how each perspective has shaped history.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make study groups in advance to work on the study guide. Take notes when reading, along with things said in class that aren't necessarily on the powerpoint. Watch your movie a week in advance of when your film paper is due so you don't stress yourself out.

    Pretty easy, overall.

Professor Sivak is a very intelligent and kindhearted professor. He's more liberal leaning, but gave fair coverage to all political ideologies in his course.

    Course highlights:

He's Canadian and very easy to understand and listen to. It's a great introduction to politics as a form of study.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Remember to do the discussion board posts, and always go tot he test prep days. They really do help.
