Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I felt this was an immersive course where as students we had to put ourselves in the shoes of our future students. This made it easier for me to understand how to be a better teaching because I was able to experience what my students will experience.

    Course highlights:

My favorite parts of this course was the room to be creative. We were required to do book reports as if we were students in an elementary literature class and we had to read the same books they would be reading. It opened my eyes to the different genres I could pick from and the creativity a teacher could embrace in the classroom. It also gave me different tools to teach with for different learning types and abilities.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The most important thing for this course is to be creative and make sure you read the books. Several students in my class would get the basic ideas of the book, but never actually read it, and the teacher always knew.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course was intellectually enriching while being really fun. She is a fair grader, and gives out big projects but will help with any questions you have. She's also very understanding about problems students may encounter. I loved the content and how approachable Professor Morris is.

    Course highlights:

I learned that Children's Literature is so much more than just picture books. The genres and purposes of various formats of literature vary greatly. Even the illustrations and detail are specific to what the author wants children to take away from the book.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

TAKE IT. Even if it isn't a part of your major. It's really fun and refreshing, like taking a course while also taking a trip down memory lane.
