This class was tough.
Course Overview:
The material is very interesting and begins to apply physics and math concepts towards more engineering-like problems. However, this course demands an overwhelming amount of time outside of class to complete homework and projects. I also wish that a MatLab course was a prerequisite for Statics because it is required for the projects which are not even discussed in class.
Course highlights:
I developed skills on how to analyze the components of forces on various structures and also developed some MatLab skills.

Advice for students:
It is helpful to know MatLab prior to taking this course. Also, go to tutoring and ask the TA's for help!
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
It's required for all Civil Engineering students, so you kinda have to take it. Otherwise it's still a fun course and really preps you for both Dynamics, Deform, and Structures.
Course highlights:
The Computing projects really helped me learn how to code.

Practice the same problems over and over again until you get it. There are patterns to a lot of the problems.

The course is very intense, but if the other course load is balanced, statics can be enjoyable.

I am learning to do structural analysis. This is the first course that actually gets into civil engineering.

Don't allow the assignments to build up. Complete assignments as they are assigned.
