Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because it was part of the bacheloriate program with ASU. It is a great course to show you how to teach students who are coming from other languages, backgrounds, and cultures. It focuses on having the "teacher" think about lessons which need additional explanation via pictures, kinesthetic activities, or group work.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were that you really have to think about your students. You have to think about what they may need additional explanation in or whether or not they need pictures of vocabulary words.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Advice I would give to students considering this course would be to follow the example that is given to you. Print the pictures, or better, give real life examples (don't just show a picture of a plant, bring a plant in). Think in ways that you would want to learn if you were being exposed to a new language.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

You need this to earn an SEI endorsement in AZ

    Course highlights:

It was a great course because I was able to learn what students might need in order to succeed in school. The information you learn in this class helps you think in a different way for other students. For example, when you are reading or teaching a lesson, it is helpful to print pictures for students who are not as familiar with the words you are using. You want to print pictures of words which might be unique to your lesson.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Think about what you would want during a lesson if you were being taught in a different language (pictures, kinesthetic activities, examples etc.)

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Studying Bilingual education for students who's first language is not English is not only a great way to understand the different cultures around the world but also effective at understanding how to modify lessons to help all students.

    Course highlights:

We learned about various cultures and their customs which was the most interesting!

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Whether you are thinking about being and elementary major or actually are one, this class is useful in the classroom as well in everyday life.
