    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I started this class pretty good, I was understanding the concept, turning in my work on time and kept an A or perhaps a high B in that class. But that all changed when I missed a day of school on the 2nd week going into the first semester. And ever since, I've been behind in work and with knowledge. I came back the next day not having any idea of what the other students had calculated nor how they solved the problems from their homework sheet . And so you see, in this class, my teacher would give a new lesson that connects to the lesson given from the day before everyday with new homework assignments that are considered book work of about 15 to 20 questions a day. And homework was due two days after its assigned. But I, instead of catching with the day's new lesson when i came back from missing a day, I began working on yesterdays assignment, while the teacher was teaching new concept. And just like that, I fell way behind. I found myself always trying to catch up with assignments from about two days ago while others were working on new ones. I would start my homework but then quit trying when i would get stuck and start the next new one so homework sheets would be piled up and weren't turned in. My grade was lowering every week, that I came in to torturing almost every morning and after noon. Gratefully my teacher was always there to help me but I was obviously still behind so it took me lot to under one lesson. I was attending school clubs, maybe about 3 and I did join the soccer team. Therefore I literally spent 3/4 of my day at school. I would come home too late and fall into naps from exhaustion. I would then wake up hours later try to catch on homework, which was a fail since I had distractions at home and it was too late for me to be up. I put a lot of effort into this class but no matter how much I put in, it was certainly not enough since I did fail about almost every test. I ended my first semester almost failing the class but i was really close. I ended up dropping calculus from my second semester schedule. Which i kinda regretted since I've always taken advance math since freshmen year so to drop to a lower level was quite an embarrassment and disappointment. But since I have started taking a college course this semester, I'm happy to say I don't have to worry about doing so much calculus homework, I'm already reading a lot for my college course and my only focus after school is that class. My shoulders feel way more lighter now than last semester.

    Course highlights:

As hard as the class got for me more and more everyday, I learned how much you can miss and fail an advance challenging class by missing just one day. It takes a lot of effort, dedication and a lot of time, which i failed to reach with joining so much clubs and sports.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

One big advice i can give is DO NOT miss school/class !! But if so, stop everything else that your doing and dedicate all your time to what you miss and to the new concept, all in one day atleast ! If your in clubs, sports, or have a job, and can't give it up a week, go in to class for tutoring in the morning and try your best to understand the subject. Marry the subject and put in effort into the relationship.
