    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The course is required for all nursing students. The course is tough, but you learn so much and it is worth it because whenever you work in the hospital or complete clinicals, you'll feel great when you are able to recognize the medications. Patients who have medical allergies, it is very important to know what they can and cannot have. This class is one of the most important courses you will take.

    Course highlights:

Drugs, drugs and more drugs. Prescription drugs to be exact. You learn tons of drug classes and their side effects and affects on the body. You learn fun acronyms to remember them and you'll leave the class with many colorful notes that you'll cherish for a lifetime.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Read all the assigned chapters. Study after class, more than once a week. No cramming. Draw out detailed diagrams to help breakdown drug classes. Use multiple colors when taking notes to differentiate side effects, drug uses, etc. Ask for help when needed. Study with other classmates and quiz one another. Pray and stay encouraged.
