Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class for individuals who have a great interest in learning about Biology in immense depth, especially on the molecular level. However, this course can be rigorous in terms of at home study so reading the material in the textbook as well as frequently reviewing notes is highly recommended. This course is also great for learning how to better academic communication with peers as well as learning how to excel in group work.

    Course highlights:

For me the main highlight of this course was conducting labs. During the labs we were given a general overview and from there created our own procedure, collected and processed data (with unique independent variables), and concluded with an in depth lab report. Doing these labs helped me learn how to process and interpret data without having the prior knowledge of what my data meant. I also learned how to navigate my way through various Microsoft and google programs. In terms of my academic habits AP Biology taught me how to stay on task with my assignments; I learned to be prompt with completing homework and actually taking the time to review the new knowledge afterwards.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise these students to take advantage of the materials provided in the textbook such as the practice test. I would also advise future AP Biology students to avoid procrastinating as much as they can because getting behind in the course is easy due to the heavy at home work load.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

howell is an amazing teacher that truly cares about the success of his students, not just on the AP exam but also in their grades and understanding of the material. It is clear that he loves the subject he teaches, and his efforts to make the class enjoyable and worthwhile are greatly appreciated.

    Course highlights:

Every day in class was some sort of fun. It hasn't been a class that drags and has one constantly checking the clock. Labs are fun, discussions are great, Howell is entertaining, and the small class size is very comfortable. The class is fairly tough, but very doable for one that puts in effort, and especially lovers of biology.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the reading, watch the videos, and participate in class. Ask any questions, because you will almost always have the same question as someone else.
