This class was tough.
Course Overview:
Math is generally not a class students look forward to taking; however, Professor Michaux taught in a way that made each lesson clear. This class is the base for all math classes I have to take in the future and I am better prepared because of this experience.
Course highlights:
The highlight of this course was the homework assignments. In this course we were able to repeat the homework assignments until all the answers were correct. Although it was tempting to not spend the extra time on this course, that allowed me to learn more than I would have if I had only had one change for the correct answer.
Hours per week:
9-11 hours
Advice for students:
My advice would be to take the time to learn and understand. Some days it was difficult to work on this course, but I did and it absolutely paid off.
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
I would recommend it because this class is a review of every algebra course to exist, and it also prepares you so much for college math all in the sections throughout the year.
Course highlights:
The highlight of the class was having most of it being a review, so you know the material but its just a refresher on your brain. I learned everything from variables to solving equations many different ways to graphing the most complex formulas.
Hours per week:
0-2 hours
Advice for students:
The tests are harder that you might think, so study all of your material instead of just what you think you need to study. Tests and quizes are the majority of your grade so take them very seriously
Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
James has masterful chops, is hilarious and a phenomenal teacher. If you don't learn what you need to learn to be successful in this class, you're really just your own worst enemy.
Course highlights:
College level mathematics relies on solid algebra skills throughout. That said, apply yourself in this course and it will pay off. When it comes to algebra, even the nasty stuff, I ain't scared.
Hours per week:
6-8 hours
Advice for students:
Show up on time, take notes and start the homework early. If you do those 3 things, you'll succeed. Be ready for his tests...they are snorty and long.
