Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Listen to what your professor has to say and if they give you objectives, do not ignore them! The professors are there to help, take advantage of that.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The class was challenging, but the Professor was open-minded, had casual speech and humor to break the ice among his students, very thorough in his lectures, and had the answer to every one of the student's questions. He ensures everyone is on the same page of every topic, allowing us to play a little "game" as a memory jog 2-4 days before every exam. He's able to see through everyone's point of view, knowing that there will always be one student who doesn't understand and give a detailed example in a humorous way to grab even the most exhausted of students' attention. He made biology fun for those who HAD to take the course.

    Course highlights:

As expected with General Biology, I have gained a decent understanding of various topics, ranging from the ol' human body to the genetic coding among the family tree within a semester. Genetics was always my weak point throughout high school, so I worried I would fail the topic. I was too shy to confront him after class about it, but I wasn't the only one and he knew. He even is aware that every student has a different way of learning. Auditory and visual is fine, but some require hands-on learning. With that in mind, he had us play a "game" of charts and drawing to have a thorough idea of how genes, dna, recessive/dominant traits work. Had personal life not get in the way, forcing me to drop out, I would've passed that class with an A and give a lengthy review of how amazing the professor was and how he gave a new light to how fun and fascinating biology is.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Attend class, listen, don't be afraid to ask questions If a professor enjoys a subject, be aware that s/he will ensure that you enjoy the subject throughout the semester. Professors wants to see you succeed under their guidance, so don't be afraid to approach them if you have difficulty understanding something. For those taking the course for science majors, including Biology: Be prepared for lots of writing and class-wide discussions. The more you involve yourself, the better the chance that you'll know the course like the back of your hand for every exam.
