Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend it for anyone who is a biology or science major. The professor challenges students but sets you up for success by providing detailed notes and teaching an interactive lab.

    Course highlights:

After taking a high school biology course, this class reinforced the ideas but gave me a greater and more detailed understanding.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed in this class, class attendance, note-taking, and paying attention is vital. Also, the homework assignments should be completed for the grade and also as a great tool for studying. Finally, the lab attendance can really boost your grade and helps with the comprehension of ideas from class, meaning it should not be missed.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course not only due to Mr. Smith's teaching style but also due to how in depth he went into the course material. He allows students to be included in the lectures if they please or sit in the back and learn independently which I am quite fond of.

    Course highlights:

The exams were rather difficult however there was always a study guide being provided. The study guide allowed for you to know the material in question while also having you do the research not just one word answers from the book. Mr. Smith was super great about giving back exams quickly after they were done, usually within the next class period. I was glad to finally have a teacher capable of breaking down the complex material of atoms, protons, neutrons and all the other chapters in the book. I wish I could take more classes with him, I learned more in his class than in any of my other courses.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

In order to success, make sure to read over the powerpoints he lectures from. They may be way too many slides to even think about, but honestly they are the most helpful. Never be afraid to ask a question, have him repeat information, or email him. He responds reasonably soon and gives great advice.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is a very challenging course but once you've finished it you feel very accomplished and knowledgeable.

    Course highlights:

I learned about the growth of cells, how bacteria can gain disease resistance, how cancer cells occur, how genetics vary, how diversity occurs, and many other interesting ways to look at things and observe the world around us.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay very close attention when taking notes in class most test information can be found in the note you will take. Review the previous homework assignment for the chapters that will be on the test most of the information you need to know will be on those assignments. And most importantly turn in all assignment on time.
