    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Grieve is an incredible teacher. She pushes you really hard, but it doesn't go without reward. My writing has improved so much since taking her class.

    Course highlights:

She uses modern examples from sources like John Oliver and 20/20 to see different tricks of rhetoric contemporary media uses to try to persuade its audience. I learned that there is some degree of persuasion in everything, and part of our job as consumers is to try to see through that.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not procrastinate. Go into office hours. Be sure to fully explain all of your thoughts. If there is a simpler way for you to describe something, use that way.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Mark Roberts is an incredibly knowledgeable and passionate professor. He learns everyone's name in all of his classes by the first week, which is just one example of how much he truly cares about his students. You will become a better writer, and be engaged for the entire quarter!

    Course highlights:

I truly became a better writer and learned more about argumentation styles and how to successfully make a point in writing. He prepared me for success in my major, and I still think about the tips and tricks he taught us about writing clearly and concisely.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely take this course! Show up to class, do the reading and assignments, go to office hours, and I promise you will get an A!
