    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

CHEM 127 is a GE that is required for life science majors. That being said, there are plenty of other sections available and I would not recommend Dr. S for this class. She teaches this class assuming that everyone has a strong high school background in chemistry and even then, she makes countless errors on tests and during lecture that a professor teaching the subject should realize are wrong.

    Course highlights:

I learned very little from this class because I already took AP Chemistry in high school. It is basically a repeat of that course except for minor details that the high school course did not get into. Topics covered include light and electrons, chromatography, intermolecular forces, and periodic trends.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study hard and make sure you seek out outside resources for this class, especially if the professor's teaching style is not conducive to you. This course moves fast and if you don't understand something while they're teaching it, you will get left behind very quickly if you don't make the effort to keep up.
