Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would reccommend this class if you are interested in choosing a career in the health or medical direction because this class prepares you extremely well for those classes by lectures, labs and having guest speakers talk about their professions and how they got from high school to where they are today. Also, the teacher is very helpful with helping you decide what career direction you want to pursue even if it is not medical and helps you get a lot of opportunities to volunteer or shadow people who are doing the profession you are interested in.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were the labs and hands-on activities. I have learned how to dissect a sheep brain, heart and eye, I learned how to take vital signs, how to cast arms and we had an EMS unit for three weeks when we learned how to diagnose the patient, how to backboard them to get in an ambulance and what to do in an emergency situation. On the more textbook side of this course, I learned the anatomy of the body, how all the systems in the body work, how drugs and diseases affect your body and many more topics.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

The advice I would give to students considering this course is that if you are interested in the medical field or even if you have no idea what you want to do, to take this class because it is very occupation based and will help you decide what you like and do not like. Also, if you pay attention it is an easy class and the teacher is very good at instructing and helping you if you are unsure about something.
