Not too easy. Not too difficult.

The rigorous course allows you to be better prepared for AP so that you can then tackle college courses. The projects are also really fun to do and the writing isn't too hard.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were learning all the new literary devices along with reading great books. The focus on Macbeth was spectacular.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

It isn't as hard as you think it is, just because you don't get the grade bump for H anymore doesn't mean you shouldn't take the course.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Although this was a rigorous coarse, it involved a heavy amount of collaborative learning, which I believe exposed me to new ideas and literary devices. During this coarse, I grew stronger as a writer and within my analytical skills.

    Course highlights:

During this coarse, I enjoyed how the class as a whole would take a piece of literature and dissect it. This assisted us in understanding the meaning of the piece and what the writer felt as it was written. Also, this course incorporated writers notebooks, which were notebooks we had to write in every week. It allowed us to write about anything we wanted. The writers notebooks stuck true to the saying of, "If you write everyday, you will become better at writing everyday".

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I you are considering taking this coarse, you must be prepared for about 2-4 hours of homework every night. To keep up with the pace of this class, you must be organized and not procrastinate. Also, paying careful attention in class is crucial, for the teacher gives you numerous hints to how to write different essays and get good grades on them.
