    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

A great and inspirational teacher that teaches puts time and effort into teaching his students all the material. Although strict and sometimes seemingly unemotional, he is extremely brilliant and takes his time to give feedback on what we need to work on. He is one of the only teachers that works outside of the book to teach extra and he also answers any questions you have to the best of his ability.

    Course highlights:

Of course I have learned Biology from this class, but I have learned so much more. Because Hwang hates wasting time, I have learned how to concentrate, even surrounded by people that may distract me. Hwang has also taught me the importance of fully understanding something and being unafraid to ask questions.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely study hard. Read the book and make sure you understand everything 101%. If the topic is too hard to understand, don't stress, Hwang does a good job of teaching the material and exploring more. You have to make sure you answer questions. It's okay to skip some days of discussion, but he records discussion point and they are an important part of you grade. Make sure you do what your told and don't have idle chatter. Ha HATES wasting time and if he sees you wasting time he'll straight up kick you out of the class. When he gives you time to do work in class, make sure you spend it wisely.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The teacher is not involved with the curriculum or studies at all and often gets sidetracked in class. He doesn't bother teaching and worries more about basketball abd politics. It is a self-study class, and requires hard work, but the material isn't properly taught or explained thoroughly.

    Course highlights:

There is a lot of knowledge required about the body, including cells, organs, and blood. There is also a lot about other organisms and their ecosystems and evolution.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Study very hard and stay on top of all of the work. Do outlines for each section of the chapter and watch YouTube videos to get a better understanding.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Mr. Sorensen is a fantastic teacher who is really ecstatic about teaching biology to his students. He always incorporates different ways to teach his lessons and tries to hype up his students.

    Course highlights:

I learned so much more than what I previously did. AP Biology, though a rigorous course, challenged me to think in new ways and made me choose my prospective major for college.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure to study, study, study! AP Biology is different from other AP science courses in that it deals with more memorization than simple calculations. It is helpful to use online resources such as Course Hero to study for tests.
